Art comes alive in this interactive experience of Indian culture. A unique presentation by the community brings together the colorful tapestry of art and life in India – touching on different facets in a variety of ways. Dance and music, textiles and painting, wellness and yoga, drama and theater, cooking and fashion – dimensions of India’s cultural heritage – come alive through panels and exhibits, workshops and demonstrations. Expert practitioners presented content to visitors, using innovation and style for a “design your own” experience, and drawing them into “hands-on” exploration, awareness and appreciation.
The exhibit opened with “Madhuban”, an immersive experience filled with mystery and intrigue on February 15th, and the event drew rave reviews from attendees. From Feb 21st to March 7th, attendees enjoyed informative, engaging workshops and amazing performances through the Wellness, Lifelong Learning, and Theatre weekends. All events starting March 14th were cancelled as the Irving Museum was closed to the public in keeping with the CDC’s guidance and county/city restrictions on events and mass gatherings over 50. We are awaiting the re-opening of museum when it is safe to do so, and we expect the India a la Art exhibits to continue to be on display till November 1.
ICTN (Irving Community Television Network) is creating a virtual tour for India a la Art, and we will share the link as soon as its available.
