Art comes alive in this interactive experience of Indian culture. A unique presentation by the community brings together the colorful tapestry of art and life in India – touching on different facets in a variety of ways. Dance and music, textiles and painting, wellness and yoga, drama and theater, cooking and fashion – dimensions of India’s cultural heritage – come alive through workshops and demonstrations, panels and exhibits. Expert practitioners present content to visitors, using innovation and style for a “design your own” experience, and drawing them into “hands-on” exploration, awareness and appreciation. The exhibit opened with “Madhuban”, an immersive experience filled with mystery and intrigue on February 15th. The event drew rave reviews from attendees. From Feb 21st to March 7th, attendees enjoyed informative, engaging workshops and amazing performances through the Wellness, Lifelong Learning, and Theatre weekends. All events starting March 14th have been cancelled as the Irving Museum is closed to the public until April 5th, in keeping with the CDC’s guidance and county/city restrictions on events and mass gatherings over 50. We will share pictures and videos from the exhibit, “Madhuban”, workshops, and theatre performances soon, so you can “relive” your museum visit or see what you missed! We will finalize a new date for the For You by You event when activities can be safely resumed in the Metroplex. Stay Safe!!
