thinkIndia’s theatrical production for 2019, “The Royal Dilemma”, was themed on storytelling and featured the marvelous craft of the master storyteller. To promote the show, and to promote the art of writing, we invited writers of all ages – from elementary school to adult – to let their imagination roam free!
Competitors were required to write a story in English, between 500 and 1000 words long, titled “The Royal Dilemma”. A panel of six judges including authors and schoolteachers in the DFW metroplex judged entries in three categories (elementary school, middle school and high school and adult).
First, second and third prize trophies were awarded in each category. The names of the winners were announced during the shows of The Royal Dilemma on the 14th 21st and 27th of September 2019, and their work was prominently displayed in the lobby during all nine shows, along with all the other entries.
This competition and the interest it generated, both in the entries and when visitors saw the work at the shows, will set the stage for other similar contests in future!
